Julie Bateman

Julie has 30+ years of business, real estate, leadership and coaching experience.  Julie and her husband ran (and sold) a landscaping business for 10 years.  Julie has operated as an independent real estate agent for 20 years.  She has mentored numerous agents, helping to develop a mentorship program for her firm.  Additionally, Julie ran her prior firm’s productivity coaching program, overseeing a team of 7 coaches and cumulatively more than 300 agents.  Julie has led her firm as CEO / Team Leader, managing an office of 250 agents with a staff of 7 amazing leaders by her side.  Julie is also a John Maxwell certified coach / leader. She believes that everything rises and falls with leadership and strives to help all those around her live a joyful life of purpose and integrity.

Community service and service to others is foundational for Julie - both professionally and personally.  She has a heart for ALL people and has a special spot for children and young adults.  Julie has served for well over a decade with Junior Achievement, bringing lessons in economics and entrepreneurship to public schools for elementary through middle school-aged kids.  She has been certified and taught Quantum Leap for Kids through KW Next Gen, a 1-2 day session designed to help young adults (ages 14-26) identify their gifts, strengths and their ‘Big Why’ and to create a plan to help them pursue a life of purpose utilizing those.  She actively hosts interns through a local high school and has served on the Business Alliance with a local high school as the Chair for over ½ decade, helping the school to partner with local businesses to provide internship opportunities to students.

Julie also believes in giving back within her industry and spent about 3 years researching homelessness and affordable housing in Raleigh and Wake County and advocated with local governments (city and county) to push for zoning and building codes to be updated to allow for Tiny Homes to be built within municipality limits with the intention of helping the affordability of housing in the area and to provide a additional transition into housing for the homeless population.

Julie also serves her local community by supporting and volunteering with various nonprofits throughout the year. In 2024 Julie led her prior office in raising over $52,000 and contributing 916 volunteer hours for charities and organized a local blood drive, saving 36 lives.  Julie also led efforts to help collect donation items for Hurricane Helene victims in Western NC, gathering 2,835 donations and organizing transport and deliver, including personal aviation transports before roads were accessible.

Personally, Julie is mom to two amazing daughters - Morgan and Alyssa - and wife to her husband of 25+ years, Andrew. Julie and Andrew live in Raleigh with their 2 dogs - Buster and Blue, their cat, Bruno and a bearded dragon named Broccoli. Julie has called Raleigh 'home' since her family moved here in 1983. She attended and graduated from UNC-Wilmington. She loves all things nature and water-related and spends as much time outside as possible. Julie is also an avid reader and enjoys a variety of genres with her usual go-to's being business/self-help, fantasy and historical fiction.
